  10. Welcome  to  the reviews-section of Top
  11. Secret.   We  will  start  by reviewing
  12. some of the dem that have been released
  13. lately.    We   have   seen  some  very
  14. impressive demos these past months.  So
  15. read  on,  to  see what the creators of
  16. Top   Secret   think  about  the  demos
  17. released. 
  18. ²MOBILE   -   DESTINATION   UNKNOWN   BY
  19. SPACEBALLS:¹
  20. ³----------------------------------------¹
  21. One  man..One  routine.  Can you say in
  22. another  way  ?   Lone Starr once again
  23. shows us his incridible vector-routine.
  24. Unfortunately  for  him and Spaceballs,
  25. it was not enough,this time, to win the
  26. demo-competition.    But  the  demo  is
  27. still  quite  good.  The vector-routine
  28. is  just  so impressive, because of the
  29. speed.   There  is  not  a  lot  of the
  30. design  in  the  demo,  but  the chosen
  31. colors  and  the  few  switches between
  32. screen   are  well-choosen.   Also  the
  33. music  by  Audiomonster  is  giving the
  34. demo  a  little lift.  The main-problem
  35. with  this  demo  is  the short time it
  36. last.   A few minutes longer and with a
  37. bit  more  originality, this demo would
  38. have  been  extremely  good.   Now it's
  39. just good !

  42. ²INTERFERENCE BY SANITY¹
  43. ³---------------------------------------¹
  44. Sanity  has  lost  some members lately.
  45. But with this one-part demo the show us
  46. that  the  are  still  able  to  create
  47. fantastic demos.  Cosmos and Microforce
  48. give  us  some  very good and extremely
  49. fast  routines,  which  might have been
  50. seen  before,  but  never  in  the same
  51. quality.   The music fits the demo very
  52. good  and gives it a lot of atmosphere.
  53. The graphics by Cougar and Havok speaks
  54. for  itself and last, but certainly not
  55. least,   it   seems   like  Sanity  has
  56. overcomed   their   problems  with  the
  57. design.   This  is  a great demo, maybe
  58. the  best  one-part demo ever released.
  59. Way to go Sanity !

  62. ²DESERT DREAM BY KEFRENS¹
  63. ³---------------------------------------¹
  64. Kefrens  won  another demo-competition.
  65. And  nobody can doubt why the won after
  66. seeing this demo.  It's so good.  After
  67. the  Melon-Story,  which  is  not  that
  68. impressive,  the  demo  continues  with
  69. nice  effects (I like the sawyer effect
  70. so  much.)  and a smashing design.  The
  71. music is made perfectly for fitting the
  72. routines  and  design,  which makes the
  73. demo  even better.  There is only a few
  74. bad  things  to be said about the demo.
  75. They  should  have  choosen  to include
  76. less  black backgrounds and some of the
  77. routines  on disk #2, like the bars and
  78. the first scroll, should have been left
  79. out.   But  all  in  all  this  demo is
  80. stunning.   A  few changes and it could
  81. have become a classic.

  84. ²MAXIMA BY SCOOPEX FRANCE¹
  85. ³---------------------------------------¹
  86. Finally a new productions from Scoopex.
  87. Scoopex  is  one of the groups that you
  88. always    expect   some   great   from.
  89. Unfortunately     they     have     had
  90. difficulties     to     fullfill    our
  91. expectations,  and  this demo certainly
  92. doesn't  help  on  that  image.  It's a
  93. dentro  with  nothing  new at all.  The
  94. routines   are  all  seen  before,  the
  95. design   is   normal  and  the  musicis
  96. nothing  special.   The  only  positive
  97. thing   is   the   little   decrunching
  98. animation,  which  is quite sweet.  But
  99. the demo is generally not very good and
  100. I  simply  cannot  understand  how they
  101. have  been  able to create such an ugly
  102. bonus-part.  A big disappointment !

  105. ²TERMINAL FUCKUP BY SANITY¹
  106. ³---------------------------------------¹
  107. Another  part  of  the  fuckup serie by
  108. Sanity.   And  in  contrast to Scoopex,
  109. Sanity  don't  disappoint us.  The have
  110. improved  their design dramatically and
  111. Tron has done a good job with the code.
  112. And  then  there  is  the  music.  It's
  113. fantastic  !   The best tune Jester has
  114. ever  made, in my opinion.  The demo is
  115. in    excess    of   being   fast   and
  116. well-designed  also very aggressive.  A
  117. new  style from Sanity.  Read the texts
  118. and  you  will either like the style or
  119. not.    But   wheter   you   like   the
  120. aggressive   style  or  not,  the  demo
  121. speaks for itself.

  124. ²SPEED BY SIM PRODUCTIONS¹
  125. ³---------------------------------------¹
  126. A  new  kind  of  demos are born.  This
  127. demo   offers   the   amiga  in  a  new
  128. pespective.    Gone   are   the  normal
  129. routines.   Instead  we  get four disks
  130. filled with animations.  A what kind of
  131. animations   !    Is   like   a   great
  132. music-video.  Despite the fact that the
  133. music  in this production, easily could
  134. have  been better.  But the idea behind
  135. this  demo  is  great  and  so  are the
  136. animations.  It's nice to see something
  137. different and Sim Productions deserve a
  138. lot of credits for their attempt.  This
  139. is  a demo that has to be seen, atleast
  140. once.

  143. Okay,  we are through the demo-reviews.
  144. Next  time  we will start a new kind of
  145. ¹reviews,  by  inviting  a famous guy to
  146. review the released productions.
